In collaboration with the town hall of Saint-Cézaire, the elementary school of Saint-Cézaire, the association So Jazz and the association JazzUp d'Opio, the second week of March 2023, we received in Saint-Cézaire the team of Kareem Kandy and the double bass player Greg Feingold, accompanied by Julien Osty on guitar and Carsten Weimann on drums.
Always eager to share, to play, to teach, they offered us during their week in the Côte d'Azur :
- Tuesday 14 March Afternoon at the School, meeting with the classes: "discovery of Jazz": a rare moment for the children of the school to discover the sound of a jazz quartet, with their innocent questions: a very young and interested public.
- Tuesday 14, Evening, friendly and musical at the Café Lions: a great success for a Tuesday evening, the Café Lions is full, the Xmeninacave at intermission, all the association Saint-Cezaire Jazz Festival present to discover the teachers of Festi-Jazz 2023, sixteenth edition.
Wednesday 15, from 3 pm to 10 pm: Master-Class at the Studio Cancivieri with the swing enthusiasts. Questions about improvisation, how to play, practice with the masters.
Saturday evening, March 18 at 8:30 pm : Concert at the JazzUp of Opio : Kareem Kandi Quintet with Philippe Cocogne on piano who had already joined us on Tuesday and Wednesday to finish this week in beauty. Full house, an exceptional evening.
